Roof ladders, access points, anchors, platforms and static lines all need regular inspection to maintain compliance and safety. If something goes wrong during work on the roof (think air-conditioners, cooling towers, telecommunication dishes etc) you could be at fault if compliance is lacking. Every twelve months you need to test all your hanging, lifting and climbing gear on your worksite.
The same testing applies to your internal anchors and hanging points. The Australian Standard recommends that every hanging point be tested and recertified every twelve months at a minimum. Leading into Christmas, with Christmas baubles and garlands about to be hung from your ceiling anchors inside your shopping centre, why not make this month the time for your annual internal inspection?
